| HOW
Both treatments of botulinum toxin Vistabel® and hyaluron acid are simple and quick. No medical preparation is needed and treatments are made at the doctor’s practice. Following the treatment, the
patient can immediately go back to his normal activities. What is botulinum toxin? Botulinum toxin is a natural protein that acts on nerve endings and blocks nerve impulses. Injection of the solution results in a temporary weakening of the muscle contractions in the area of injection. Applied for over 20 years for
medical reasons, this toxin has been used for aesthetic purposes for 5
years. Treatment Technique The doctor will study and mark the points of injection by asking his patient to squeeze and relax the muscles in the areas to be treated. The injections are then made with a very fine needle. The effects are visible 3 to
5 days after injection and will last 4 to 6 months. The treatment may
be repeated as often as the patient wishes. What is hyaluron acid? Hyaluron acid is a natural component of our body and plays an important role to give volume to our skin. With time, concentration of hyaluron acid decreases allowing lines and wrinkle to appear. The clear gel that is injected to smooth lines and wrinkles contains non-animal stabilised hyaluron acid. Containing no animal ingredients, no skin test is required, and being stabilised, its effects will last for several months. The treatment’s effects
last 6 to 8 months. After this period of time, the gel is totally absorbed
and disappears. Treatments may be repeated at the patient’s will. The crystal clear gel is injected in different layers of the skin depending on the structure of the tissues to be treated. For these injections, the doctor uses a very fine needle that leaves the patient free of marks or scars. The points of injection may be red for one day. Depending on the site of injection
and on the patient’s will, an anaesthetic cream or a topical local
anaesthetic can be offered. The treatment takes less than 30 minutes and
its effects are immediately visible. Treatments with botulinum toxin Vistabel® and with hyaluron acid are well tolerated and are contra-indicated, in particular, during pregnancy, breast-feeding and with certain auto-immune pathologies. |
